Find out how Better Moves Physiotherapy can help you to improve your performance and move better.

What We Offer

Injury Assessment

During an injury assessment, we thoroughly examine the injured body area to discover what may be the underlying cause. Injury assessments involve both participation with the Physiotherapist and patient to reproduce their source of pain and develop a list of possible causes. By process of elimination and outcome measures, we will then determine what the most likely cause is, and develop a treatment plan.

Movement Analysis & Screening

Provision of movement analysis assists in capabilities such as stability, mobility, symmetry, balance and strength – thus, patterns such as pushing, pulling, squatting, twisting and a variety of many more are allocated accordingly. Assessing and improving your movement is very crucial, hence providing you with services like Lower Back Screening, Rehabilitation, Functional Movement Analysis Screening, Neck Assessments, Rowing Analysis and Knee Stability Assessments.

Injury Prevention & Management

We help prevent, manage and rehabilitate injury, illness or disability, which is done through education, advice, exercise and manual therapy. This results into a number of benefits, like reduced risk of certain types of cancers, reduced blood pressure and improved mental health and wellbeing.

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is a mindful strength and conditioning program designed to target postural muscles to improve core stability and posture. Pilates can be performed to rehabilitate sports injuries, become part of a post-operative rehabilitation program, improve balance, assist with back pain and improve general fitness.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a Western technique stemmed from acupuncture to tread myofascial pain. Myofascial pain is pain that produces local and referred pain to parts of the body. It is often felt as a “ropey” or hardened area within a muscle, usually accompanied with tenderness. It involves insertion of a needle into the trigger point until they are inactivated. This allows increased blood-flow to the area and a production of chemicals released by the central nervous area to enhance analgesia. Often results are quick-acting, leaving the patient with reduced pain and more range of motion.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is medicine in which special cups are put onto your skin for a few minutes, creating suction and in turn, helping with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Taping

Kinesio Tape (KT) or rigid sports tape can be used to treat injuries, aid in proprioception, reduce swelling or help support a variety of other disorders. Taping may be a method used within a treatment appointment. If you are allergic to tapes, please advise your physiotherapist.

Sports Massage

A Sports Massage is a type of massage to target deep tissue, fascia and connective tissue. The pressure is more intense than a relaxation massage and is focused to relieve muscle tension, increased tone, active trigger points, increase circulation in blood and oxygen as well as releasing toxins from the muscle.
